Skarr Akbar - The Street Album B4 The Album (Akbar Enterprize)

One area of Baltimore rap that hasn't really been doing much for me lately is kinda aggressive hardcore street rap, which is a shame because I think that's one of the things Baltimore does best. There seems to be a good amount of new blood and excitement but really, I don't have to name names but for the most part I don't think many people are doing it well, a lot of people that just straight up can't rap for shit. So I'm glad that Skarr Akbar, one guy you can always trust to do that kind of music right, is still making records constantly. This is one of the more recent ones up on allbmorehiphop.com/skarr, might be my favorite from him since The Epidemic, lot of self-produced tracks on here. The only question I have is...what is the album this is before, and what is it called and when's it coming out? I mean damn, Skarr can drop a hundred mixtapes, and might, but I hope he drops a real real album one of these days.

Skarr Akbar - "What U Doing" (mp3)
I like the whole old school vibe of this one with the beatbox percussion.

Labels: , , ,

Comments:

This is by far his best offering but then again Skarr's worse is your next rappers BEST. So thats not saying much.

Def looking forward to the album!

I meant, NOT by far his best.

Dam you act like I said "Skarr Akbar is straight garbadge and I dont know what the hype is about". Which is how people TRUELY feel and only support him because he tries so hard. Shit I was trying to be nice

Hey look, the internet thugs are here! I know my height but I'm not sure of my current weight, I'm gonna get on a scale later and come back to tell you how big and strong I am, and then we can pretend internet fight!

LOL @ "grow up" C-Love your supposed to a be a leader in the whole underground hip-hop movement, so why dont YOU grow up and act like it. Take responsibilty in the role you portray, and tell these rap niggas they need to step it up 10 fold if they call their self representing this city. you one of the main ones be blogging bout a half ass songs/artists like it stands a chance in the industry. nomore of this babying niggas shit. If Skarr make some wack shit, and you know its wack, stop telling him its not. Tell that nigga the truth "yo i dont think this going make no impact, try again". The nigga CAN rap and his grind/longevity deserves the upmost merit, but people like YOU C-Love are holding him back from realizing his true potential. Its a new rule, an "Ok" song is not "Ok" anymore, make a banger or shelf that shit, PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

Not to harp on a point already made, but as much as I appreciate your brutal honesty, it'd be easier to respect if it wasn't coming from a disembodied anonymous comments box, especially if you're gonna go around calling out people by name who take credit and responsibility for everything they say in public.

in my opinion ...what holds us back more is a lack of respect for our fellow men and women.

I am but one person with an opinion who sometimes chooses to voice it and sometimes some folk care.

rather than attack you....I chose to remind you that we are all adults (hopefully) and that you regretfully were not acting like one. I had no beef at all with your comment. It was and still is (and until you can produce some names) your singular opinion.

you said:

"Dam you act like I said "Skarr Akbar is straight garbadge and I dont know what the hype is about". Which is how people TRUELY feel and only support him because he tries so hard. Shit I was trying to be nice"

"people" as you put it.....how many people we talking???....one...two...three people...?? how many including you....."really only support skarr because he tries so hard???"

that was straight up rude and uncalled for. PERIOD.

Al was on here shining a light on something this man accomplished - completing a project and all you could do was hate..... NOT review the product pictured/featured but hate on what came before it.

That, my friend anon, is more damaging to Baltimore hip hop than respecting a man's grind although you may not his work.

If you, anon, know anything about the business...most of the people that you know of are on your radar because of the work they've put in before being on the radar- much like a skarr. I know a thing or two about passion and sir...skarr is a passionate individual....who I know will accomplish great things in life. The writing is already on the wall. If he were any where else other than this place...no one would deny...he's get waaaaaay more respect for his vituosity.

Regardless of if you like the man or not...he does put his best foot forward and for that reason...to me ...he is a great representation of what our city has to offer. he is consistent, packaging is always nice, stage show is always electrifying, appearence is highly marketable.

What more do you want from him?

C-Love

and anon...on a positive note.....your opinion of me is valid albeit a little flawed. I most definitely keep it real with folks. I never ever tell someone they have a hot song and its not - ask about me.

I will take the points your raised about how I should interact with artists into consideration.
