Wade Waters - Dark Water (Wandering Soul Records/Hazmatic Records)
Wade Waters is a duo representing Columbia, Maryland, comprised of SoulStice and Haysoos. This album dropped back in 2006 and I kept procrastinating about posting about it here, but then got kinda reminded when I saw them perform at Sonar's hip hop cover show last week. They've got some real classic 90's soul loop type beats, the sound of the album is so cohesive that I was kinda surprised that it's a whole bunch of different producers on the album, including Kev Brown and Analogic, so you know that means the MCs really know what kind of sound they want and just found the right beats for the project. Plus they've got guest appearances from AZ and Cuban Link. SoulStice is dropping a solo album in September, and you can go over to his MySpace page to check out the single featuring Wordsworth and info on his show at the Game bar in Laurel this Wednesday, the 15th.
Wade Waters - "Who But Me" (mp3)
This is definitely my favorite song, along with the one with AZ, great beat, clever hook, good verses.
